NOTICE – Risk of Damage to Material and Property

 

The article must not be electrically connected to other light 
chains or similar items.

 

Do not switch on the article if it is still rolled up or wound up.

 

Before inserting the batteries, check whether the contacts on 
the article and on the batteries are clean, and clean them if 
necessary.

 

Use only the battery type speci

 ed in the “Technical Data”. 

 

Always replace all batteries together. Do not use batteries of 
different types or brands, or batteries with different capacities. 
When replacing batteries, ensure the correct polarity (+ / –).

 

Remove the batteries when they are dead or if you will not be 
using the article for a prolonged period. This will prevent any 
damage if a battery leaks.

 

Remove a dead battery immediately and clean the contacts 
before you insert new batteries.

 

The batteries must not be recharged or reactivated by other 
means, dismantled, thrown into a

 re, immersed in 

fl

 uids,  or 

short-circuited.

 

The individual LEDs cannot be replaced.

 

Protect the article from heat, naked 

fl

 ames, extreme tempera-

tures, persistent moisture (the article is only splashproof) and 
collisions. 

 

Clean the article with a damp cloth and a little mild cleaning 
agent if necessary. Do not clean it with aggressive or abrasive 
cleaning agents or cloths. These could damage the surface.

Inserting / Changing Batteries

3 x 1.5 V batteries of the AA type are also required. These 
are not supplied with the article.

1.  Flip open the two locking catches and open the battery com-

partment cover.

2.  Take out the dead batteries if necessary and insert new bat-

teries into the holder. When inserting batteries, ensure the cor-
rect polarity (+ / –). 

3.  Flip the battery compartment cover shut and close the two 

locking catches again. You should feel and hear them click 
into place.

Putting into Operation

1.  Fully unwind the article. 
2.  Hang up the article in a suitable location.
3.  To switch on the article, press the On / Off switch. It is possi-

ble to select between 8 light modes by repeatedly pressing the 
On / Off switch:

4.  Store the battery compartment in a location which is protected 

from sunlight and wet conditions as far as possible.

5.  To switch off the article, keep pressing the On / Off switch until 

the article is off. 

If the article is not switched off within 6 hours or another 
light mode is selected, it switches off automatically. 

Cleaning and Storage

•  Wipe down the article using a damp, soft cloth if it is dirty.
•  Wind up the article when it is not in use, remove the batteries 

and store everything in a dry place that is protected from sun-
light and is not accessible to children and animals.

Disposal

Dispose of the packaging material in an environmentally 
friendly manner and take it to a recycling centre.
Dispose of the article in an environmentally friendly man-
ner at a recycling centre for used electrical and electronic 
devices. It should not be disposed of in the normal house-
hold waste. More information is available from your local 
authorities.
The batteries should be removed prior to disposal of the 
article and disposed of separately. To protect the environ-
ment, non-rechargeable and rechargeable batteries must 
not be disposed of with normal household waste, but must 
be taken to suitable collection points. Note the relevant stat-
utory regulations governing the disposal of batteries!
