General description of breathing apparatus
FIELD OF APPLICATION
Diablo Amiante has been specially designed for operations in possible presence of asbestos.
In normal use it is supplied by a medium pressure breathable air source.
Diablo Amiante is an open-circuit breathing apparatus completely isolating the operator from
the surrounding atmosphere and ensuring full protection even in the most severe operating
conditions since external polluted air is prevented from penetrating inside the protective
device, worn by the user, by a slight but constant positive pressure.
Diablo Amiante is also equipped with a high efficiency particulate filter which grants adequate
temporary protection when compressed air is disconnected while approaching or leaving the
operation area or in case of failure of the medium pressure air supply.
Working principle
The compressed air which is drawn to the wearer can be supplied by:
I. A permanently installed air line system;
II. A set of high-capacity cylinders equipped with a pressure reducer;
III. A breathable air compressor;
IV. (two) 18-liter cylinders at 220 bar of the Sekur Air 8000/2 type.
The pressure of the air supply shall be 7 + 1 bar.
The breathable air supply must be capable of delivering at least 300 l/min for one user
connected, and 450 l/min for two users. For any additional user, the flow rate has to be at
least 150 l/min more than the initial 300 l/min.
The breathable air quality must comply with the requirements of Standard EN 12021.
The mobile compressed air sources used, have to satisfy the requirements defined in EN
14593-1:2005 and therefore approved for use with the airline devices.
