Dismantling
Always unplug the UV clarifier before working on it. Clean the device twice a year. If
algae growth increases over time or furring appears on the quartz glass tube
(H)
in
the lamp
(F)
, the quartz glass tube
(H)
needs to be cleaned. Change the lamp
(F)
after
8,000 operating hours, ideally at the beginning of the pond season.
1. Disconnect the tubes and let the water drain from the device.
2. Unscrew the lid
(E)
on the housing
(D)
and change the lamp
(F)
, if necessary.
3. Carefully remove the quartz glass tube
(H)
without force, for example by using a
coin.
4. Clean the quartz glass tube
(H)
with a suitable cleaning agent using a soft, clean
cloth. Avoid scratches.
5. When replacing the quartz glass tube
(H)
into the housing, ensure that the joint
gaskets
(I)
are fitted properly.
6. To facilitate insertion into the housing, rub the black foot
(J)
of the quartz glass
tube
(H)
with Vaseline. However, make sure not to apply any Vaseline to the
transparent tube connections
(B)
.
Safety instructions
• Only use the UV clarifier outside the pond
• With the cable outlet facing downwards, always place the mains plug into an
outdoors socket with a protective cover
• Never place the mains plug onto wet grass or a wet surface
• Do not use the device when damaged, without circulatory water, if there is a
risk of freezing up during the winter months, when applying medicine, or under
water.
• Avoid direct contact of the UV-C rays with the eyes or skin as this can cause
damage. The working order of the lamp is visible through the transparent tube
connecting branches of the fully assembled UV clarifier.
• Installation only to be carried out by a qualified electrician
