Playback of USB / SD/MMC Flash Memory
The system is equipped with a card slot for SD and MMC flash memory cards as well
as a USB port. You can use these interfaces to play MP3 files. If you are using both
interfaces, the card reader will be selected first by the system.

If necessary, press the
FUNCTION
button again until “
CARD - USB
” is shown in the
display.

Connect the USB memory medium with the USB port or insert an SD or MMC card with
the labelled side upwards in the card slot.
Ø
The display now shows the total number of playable files.
Ø
Press PLAY/PAUSE to start playback. In the display, the track number and elapsed
playtime will be shown. If you keep STEREO / MONO / ESP pressed down for one second,
the display will show the ID3 Tag instead. This is the information saved in the file about
the performer and track name.

Select the files using SKIP-DN (
9
) or SKIP-UP (
:
).
Ø
If the files are saved in several folders, press STEREO / MONO / ESP to display the folder
names. Using SKIP-DN (
9
) / SKIP-UP (
:
), select the folder. When the desired one is
displayed, press PLAY / PAUSE. Playback will now begin with the first track in the selected
folder.
Ø
If desired, you can use the repeat function as described in CD operation. However, the
system also offers an “ALBUM” repeat option, with which only the files in the current
folder will be repeated.
Ø
Press STOP to finish playback.
Note: Because of the many different formats, specifications and manufacturers of
flash memory media, we are unable to guarantee that every memory medium can
be played. It is not possible to play hard drives connected through the USB port.
Radio operation
Ø
If necessary, press the
FUNCTION
button repeatedly until “
TUNER
” is shown in the display.
Ø
For USW reception, you must totally pull out the dipole antenna from the back of the
system and find a good position. The system has a built-in antenna to receive MW
stations. If your MW reception is disturbed, turn the system into a better position.
Ø
Press
TUNER / BAND
to select the desired frequency FM (USW) or AM (MW) depending
on which station you would like to listen to.
Ø
Using SKIP-DN (

) or SKIP-UP (

), now select the station.
Press SKIP-UP (
:
) briefly to search manually for stations on a higher frequency than is
currently being displayed. Press SKIP-DN (
9
) briefly to search for stations on a lower
frequency than is currently being displayed.
Ø
If you keep SKIP-DN (
9
) or SKIP-UP (
:
) pressed for a second, the station search starts
forwards or backwards and finds the next sufficiently strong station. Then the search
stops and the station is played.
Ø
When receiving USW stereo stations,

lights up.
