HARDFLOOR CLEANING
IMPORTANT:
FOR BEST CLEANING RESULTS USE A STEADY, FORWARD AND BACKWARD MOTION. CLEANING
SHOULD BE DONE AT HALF THE SPEED OF DRY VACUUMING. FOR HEAVILY SOILED AREAS, REPEAT
IF NECESSARY.
OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
This product can be used to clean hard floor surfaces such as tile, linoleum, stone, vinyl, laminate, and wood
floors that have been sealed with a polyurethane coating and can be cleaned with water.
CAUTION:
TO PREVENT DAMAGE TO FLOORS, FOLLOW THE MANUFACTURERS CLEANING RECOMMENDATIONS.
BEFORE USING, ENSURE THAT SURFACE IS NOT WORN, BARE, OR HAS SEPERATED JOINTS. DO NOT
USE THE CLEANER IF ANY OF THESE CONDITIONS EXIST.
Hard Floor Cleaning
IMPORTANT:
MAKE SURE TO USE THE
BLUE
HARD FLOOR NOZZLE AND DIRT DEVIL FLOOR CLEANER CONCENTRATE
OR DIRT DEVIL HARDWOOD FLOOR CONCENTRATE WHEN OPERATING AS A HARD FLOOR CLEANER.
SEE INSTRUCTIONS ON PAGE 8 FOR INSTRUCTIONS ON CHANGING NOZZLES.
FILL
Remove measure cap from the rear of the Clean Water Tank (Diagram 2a).
Fill measure cup (Diagram 2b) with 1 capful of Dirt Devil
®
Floor Cleaner
Concentrate or Dirt Devil
®
Hardwood Floor Cleaner Concentrate into Clean
Water Tank (Diagram 2c).
DO NOT USE PINE, SOLVENT, OR WAX BASED
CLEANING SOLUTIONS IN CLEANER.
Fill remainder of Clean
Water Tank with warm
water up to the MAX FILL
line.
Replace measure
cap on Clean Water Tank.
Replace Tank-in-
Tank
™
System by
inserting bottom first
and tilting forward until
tank latch fastens.
Remove Tank-in-Tank
™
System from cleaner by
pushing down on tank
latch and tilting out.

With dry hands, plug cord
into properly grounded
electrical outlet.
Step on Nozzle Setting
pedal if necessary to
switch from WET SCRUB
& VAC to HARD FLOOR
DRY VAC.
Turn cleaner on by
moving power on/off
switch from OFF to ON.

Release pedal to put
into cleaning position.

Operate cleaner to dry
vacuum the entire
hard surface area.
Slide Brush On/Off
switch to the OFF
position if necessary.

Step on Nozzle Setting
pedal if necessary to
switch from HARD
FLOOR DRY VAC to
WET SCRUB & VAC
position.

Slide Brush
On/Off switch to
the ON position.
Pull Solution Trigger to
start the flow of cleaning
solution.
NOTE:
cleaner
will continuously dispense
solution until Solution
Trigger is released.

IMPORTANT:
IF THE UNIT STOPS PICKING UP DIRTY WATER AND/OR THE MOTOR CHANGES TO A HIGH PITCH,
THE DIRTY WATER TANK IS FULL AND MUST BE EMPTIED.
With solution On/Off trigger
held down, slowly push unit
forward.
Release solution
On/Off trigger and pull unit
backward in the same area
cleaned to remove dirty water
and solution from hard floor.
Overlap strokes by one inch to
prevent streaking.
(For heavily
soiled areas, repeat if necessary).

TO REDUCE THE RISK OF INJURY FROM MOVING PARTS UNPLUG BEFORE SERVICING.
IMPORTANT:
WHEN CHANGING BETWEEN HARD FLOOR AND CARPET CLEANING MODES, MAKE SURE TO USE
THE CORRECT NOZZLE:
Hard Floor Cleaning – blue nozzle (with squeegee) Carpet Cleaning – green nozzle (without squeegee)
TO CHANGE NOZZLES
Turn Nozzle Lock
Tab counter-
clockwise to
unlock nozzle
from cleaner.
Pull nozzle
forward to

completely
from Nozzle
Lock.

Store nozzle in
Nozzle Storage
Holster and
clip.
Insert new nozzle by pushing securely into Nozzle
Lock.
NOTE:
Make sure nozzle is inserted all the way
in the Nozzle Lock, otherwise Nozzle Lock will not
secure properly. Failure to install nozzle correctly
can impact cleaning performance.
Turn Nozzle Lock
Tab clockwise to
lock nozzle onto
cleaner.
