Troubleshooting 

 

 

The instrument does not turn on

 

 

Possible cause

 

Corective action

 

 
The power cable is disconnected

 

 
Check the connect of the power cable

 

Electrical system protection has intervened  

Set again the protection 

Microtome protection has intervened  

Check and if necessary replace power fuses 

No voltage 

Contact the engineering service or qualified staff for the verification 
of electric systems 

Power key has not been pressed 

Press the key on the control panel 

 
The sectioning cannot be started

The emergency stop push button is pressed 

Unlock the emergency stop push button 

The handwheel is locked 
 

Release the handwheel lock (lock/unlock button)

Stepper motor is locked

Check clamping system of each mechanism 

Wrong installation of knife holder 

Remove the screw placed in the right side of the knife holder and 
check the pressing spheres (par. 7.4) 

The specimen is not clamped properly 

Check that the cassette is securely locked in the cassette clamp 

The blade is dull 

Laterally displace the knife holder; insert a new blade 

Clearance angle of the blade too small 

Change using clearance angle settings 

The pressing spheres of knife holder are in wrong position 

Check the position of pressing spheres 

 

Sectioning deformation

Horizontal  feed  end  reached  (Position=30000).  Specimen  holder 
cannot move. Move specimen holder backwards  

 

Alarm 251: Motor feed 

Mal-functioning  of  automatic  feed  system.  Reset  the  microtome 
(Switch  OFF-  wait  10  sec.  –  Switch  ON).  If  problem  persists  contact 
Diapath S.p.A. 

Alarm 151: Connection

Unlock the emergency stop push button
