Configuration Types

The BorderNet 500 Gateway can be connected to your IP network in four different ways, depending on your needs.

DMZ Configuration

With the DMZ configuration, the BorderNet 500 Gateway is located on the DMZ of your firewall and connected
to it with only one network interface. The SIP traffic finds its way to the BorderNet 500 Gateway by either using
DNS or setting the BorderNet 500 Gateway as an outbound proxy on the clients.

This is considered the most secure configuration, since all traffic goes through both your firewall and your
BorderNet 500 Gateway. It is also considered the most flexible configuration, since all networks connected to
any of your firewall’s network interfaces can be SIP-enabled.
