SafeSite® GRP LED Linear for ATEX/IECEx
Connections
The connections are marked on the terminal
block or on a label and are presented in the
table below.
Connect the designated load phase (e.g. L1)
to L on the terminal block and the other 2
phases for loop thru (e.g. L2 and L3)
respectively to the terminal block as shown in
the Technical Diagrams section of this
manual.

Loop Through Connections
Connect incoming cable as shown above in
the respective section, then connect the
outgoing cable to the associated adjoining
connection on the terminal block to pass to
the next luminaire. The outgoing cable may
also be connected to the terminal block at
the opposite end to the incoming cable.
0-10 VDC Dimming (If Applicable)
Dimming is controlled by means of a 0-10
VDC signal (to be provided by the installer) to
control the level of dimming. At 10 volts, the
output of the unit is 100%; at 0 volts, the output
will shut off. The DC dimming voltage should
not exceed 15 VDC. Increasing the voltage
from 10 VDC to 15 VDC will not result in
additional light output.
An analog 0-10 V active dimmer may be
connected to the two wires to control the
light output of the fixture. Multiple lights may
be connected to the same dimmer, as long
as the maximum current rating of the dimmer
is not exceeded.
The dimmer must be capable of sinking 0.5
mA per light. Light output will vary
approximately linearly with control voltage,
with 10 V corresponding to 100% light output.
WARNING:
Never connect the dimming wires
to the Hot or Neutral supply wires.
NOTE:
Simply shorting the two wires together
will cause the light to shut off.
Wireless Controls (if applicable)
Ensure gateway and/or enterprise server has
firmware version C3 or later. Refer to
gateway/enterprise
server
manual
for
operation instructions.
Refer to www.dialight.com for quick start
guides and full manuals.
DALI (standard)
See technical diagram section for hook up
locations.
Emergency Backup (if applicable)
See table in technical diagram section to
identify meaning of flashing lights. Mark
battery with date of install. Remove battery
cover and ensure battery and battery
indicator connectors are connected.
The light performs periodical function and
duration tests with initial delay times and
intervals defined in IEC 62034. The battery
must be replaced when it no longer meets
the rated duration of operation after testing.
Please consult factory for replacement parts.
Closing the LED Luminaire
Remove any foreign bodies from the fixture
Pay attention when closing the terminal tray
fitting to the enclosure; make sure the seals
are clean and undamaged.
Do not allow any cables to become trapped
between the end cover and the enclosure.
Tighten both 4mm HEX socket screws evenly
to the specified torque and re-check.
Taking into Operation
Prior to operating, check the luminaire for its
correct installation in compliance with these
operating instructions and other applicable
regulations.
WARNING:
Only
fully certified equipment may
be put into operation.
Conditions for Use
The supply to the luminaire must include a
fuse which is capable of interrupting a 1.5kA
short circuit current.
When used with steel wired armour or
braided cable the basket weave armour or
braid is unable to carry the cable load
without fracture. The cable must therefore be
clamped and cleated to prevent pulling on
the cable being transmitted to the cable
terminations.
WARNING:
Improper installation, operation,
or maintenance of this luminaire may result in
the invalidation of the warranty, certificate,
or declaration of conformity.
For maximum long term reliability and light
output, the luminaire must be installed in free
air.
Maintenance
This LED luminaire should require a minimum
amount of maintenance. If any unforeseen
repairs are required, please contact Dialight
or its authorized representative.
Select parts are replaceable, please contact
factory for details.
Inspection
Within the scope of maintenance or
inspection routine the following should be
included:
•
Consult the relevant national regulations
to determine the type and extent of
inspections required
•
Adjust inspection intervals accordingly
to suit the operating conditions
•
Perform maintenance in accordance
with IEC 60079-17 and IEC 60079-19
Repairs / Overhaul / Modification
The equipment must be operated according
to the intended purpose in a perfect and
undamaged condition.
NOTE:
Select
replacement
parts
are
available, please contact factory for details.
WARNING:
Modifications to the device or
changes of its design are not permitted.
Disposal Recycling
When the apparatus is disposed of, the
respective national regulations on waste
disposal should be observed.
