INTENDED USE
Your D

WALT metal cutting circular saw has been
designed for the cutting of variously shaped metal
materials: water and gas pipes, angular iron,
U-profiles, T-bars, rods, bolts, etc.
Using the appropriate cutting blade, it can cut hot
and cold rolled carbon steel, construction steels
according to DIN 1700 (ST33, ST37-2). This tool
is not intended to be used in non-ferrous metals,
stainless steel, synthetic materials, or cast-iron,
brick, tile or ceramic materials. The tool is never to
be used for cutting magnesium workpieces.
DO NOT
use under wet conditions or in presence of
flammable liquids or gases.
These circular saws are professional power tools.
DO NOT
let children come into contact with the
tool. Supervision is required when inexperienced
operators use this tool.
Electrical Safety
The electric motor has been designed for one
voltage only. Always check that the battery pack
voltage corresponds to the voltage on the rating
plate. Also make sure that the voltage of your
charger corresponds to that of your mains.

WALT charger is double insulated
in accordance with EN 60335; therefore
no earth wire is required.
If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced
by a specially prepared cord available through the
D
E
WALT service organisation.
Mains Plug Replacement
(U.K. & Ireland Only)
If a new mains plug needs to be fitted:
• Safely dispose of the old plug.
• Connect the brown lead to the live terminal in
the plug.
• Connect the blue lead to the neutral terminal.
WARNING:
No connection is to be
made to the earth terminal.
Follow the fitting instructions supplied with good
quality plugs. Recommended fuse: 3 A.
Using an Extension Cable
An extension cord should not be used unless
absolutely necessary. Use an approved extension
cable suitable for the power input of your charger
(see technical data). The minimum conductor size is
1 mm
2
; the maximum length is 30 m.
When using a cable reel, always unwind the cable
completely.
ASSEMBLY AND ADJUSTMENTS
WARNING:
Prior to assembly and
adjustment, always remove the battery
pack. Always switch off the tool before
inserting or removing the battery pack.

WARNING: To reduce the risk of
serious personal injury, turn tool off
and disconnect battery pack
before
making any adjustments or removing/
installing attachments or accessories.
An accidental start-up can cause injury.
NOTE:
Make sure your battery pack (j) is fully
charged.
TO INSTALL THE BATTERY PACK INTO THE TOOL HANDLE
1. Align the base of the tool with the notch inside
the tool’s handle (fig. 2).
2. Slide the battery pack firmly into the handle until
you hear the lock snap into place.
TO REMOVE THE BATTERY PACK FROM THE TOOL
1. Press the battery release buttons (k) and firmly
pull the battery pack out of the tool handle.
2. Insert battery pack into the charger as
described in the charger section of this manual.
Depth of Cut Adjustment (fi g. 1, 3)
1. Loosen the depth adjustment knob (i).
2. Move the shoe (h) to obtain the correct depth of
cut.
3. Tighten the depth adjustment knob (i).
4. For optimal results, allow the saw blade
to protrude from the workpiece by about 3 mm
(refer to inset in figure 3).
