Mains Plug Replacement
(U.K. & Ireland Only)
If a new mains plug needs to be fitted:
• Safely dispose of the old plug.
• Connect the brown lead to the live terminal in
the plug.
• Connect the blue lead to the neutral terminal.
WARNING:
No connection is to be
made to the earth terminal.
Follow the fitting instructions supplied with good
quality plugs. Recommended fuse: 13 A.
Using an Extension Cable
If an extension cable is required, use an approved
3–core extension cable suitable for the power
input of this tool (see technical data).The minimum
conductor size is 1.5 mm
2
; the maximum length is
30 m.
When using a cable reel, always unwind the cable
completely.
ASSEMBLY AND ADJUSTMENTS
WARNING: To reduce the risk of
injury, turn unit off and disconnect
machine from power source before
installing and removing accessories,
before adjusting or changing set-
ups or when making repairs.
Be sure
the trigger switch is in the OFF position.
An accidental start-up can cause injury.
Fitting the Side Handles (fi g. 2)
1. Put the tool on its side.
2. Carefully insert the top end of one of the side
handles (d) into the opening of the front handle
(c).
3. Turn the side handle until its bottom end
engages in the housing (j).
4. Tighten the fixing screw (m) with the hex key (i).
5. Repeat this procedure for the other side handle.
WARNING:
Always operate the
tool with the side handles properly
assembled.
Replacing the Saw Blades
REMOVING THE SAW BLADES (FIG. 3)
1. Turn the tool upside down and remove the saw
blade guard (g).
2. Loosen both saw blade fixing screws (h) with
the hex key (i) until a click is heard.
3. Carefully pull one saw blade until the threaded
hole (n) is out of the housing.
4. Pull the saw blade out of the locking clip (o) and
take it out of the bar (f).
5. Repeat this procedure for the other saw blade.
FITTING THE SAW BLADES (FIG. 4)
1. Slide one saw blade into the bar (f) making sure
its slotted hole (p) fits into the locking clip (o).
2. Insert the back of the saw blade into the
housing (j) until the threaded hole (n) lodges in
the required mounting position.
3. Repeat this procedure for the other saw blade.
4. Using a piece of wood push on the toothed
side of the saw blades to make sure that they
are exactly parallel to the bar (f).
5. Tighten both saw blade fixing screws (h)
securely by pressing and turning simultaneously
with the short end of the hex key (i).
WARNING:
Before operation let the
saw blades run freely for approx. 20 s.

Prior to Operation (fi g. 1)
• Remove the saw blade guard (g).
• Mount the appropriate type of saw blade.
• Check that the tool is running properly and can
perform all its functions. Make sure that the bar
(f) is still straight and the saw blades (e) and the
housing (j) are undamaged.
