Installing the WLAN USB stick in Windows
Use the WLAN USB stick to connect a desktop or notebook computer to the
WLAN. The
WECT
function of the dsl
+
1100 WLAN automatically configures
WPA2-encrypted connections between the dsl
+
1100 WLAN and computers
using the included WLAN USB stick and running Windows 2000 or Windows XP
(32-bit).
With the
WECT
function, you are selecting a special devolo WLAN configura-
tion that uses the best settings for a WLAN network with the dsl
+
1100 WLAN
and the WLAN USB stick. To connect to other WLAN networks (e.g. hotspots),
configure your WLAN settings in Windows.
Windows XP lets you switch back and forth between configurations as neces-
sary. Click the devolo arch in the system tray in the bottom right-hand corner of
your display and select the appropriate configuration.
