• Soft items of kit like spare underwear, ski jacket and fleece should be
packed against the back wall of the rucksack. Any objects that might
potentially have an adverse affect on the protective function should not
be left loose inside the rucksack. Sharp or pointed implements should be
protected appropriately (e.g. crampon/ice tool point protectors) and lashed
to the pack in such a way that the points are facing away from the body.
• Please ensure that you remove your rucksack when using the ski lift. When
leaving the ski lift, take care that your rucksack does not become caught
on anything.
• If the rucksack is too heavy it will have a negative effect on your sporting
performance and enjoyment.
heAvy fAlls And imPAct dAmAge:
After a heavy fall or serious impact it is crucial that you take time to inspect
the Shield System Protector for signs of potential damage (split seams, nicks
or tears in the straps, cracks in the PE plate or snap buckles). If in doubt,
please do not hesitate to contact Deuter.
Pre- And Post-use insPection:
Inspect the rucksack before and after use to ensure that:
• there are no tears in the straps, split seams or other mechanical damage
• all buckles are working properly
• the rucksack is correctly packed and fastened
• the contents do not shift around inside
