CORRECTIONS OF FAULTS
FAULTS CAUSE
Flame is extinguished immediately after ignition
1-2-3-4-5-6-7-8-9-10-11-12-13-14
Pump does not start and signal light does not come in, 6-3-14
in position “1” or position “2” when the heater
is preheated.
Flame extinguishes while the pump still works.
2-5-7-9-10-12
Burner makes humming noise. 10-11-12
Soot formation in burner and chimney. 8-9-10-11-12
Unburned oil in burner. 8-9-11-12 or too much diesel at start.
CAUSE SOLUTION

0 No electrical supply.
+
Check if the plug is in the socket and check fuses.

0 Water or sediment in the tank.
+
Clean tank and filter.

0 Pump motor not switched on.
+
Put the switch in position “1”.

0 Motor and pump do not work.
+
Fuel too thick or too cold. Dilute with diesel.
+
Check pump thermostat and replace if necessary.
+ Check motor and see if there is dirt inside the
pump.

0 Inlet tube is blocked, oil flows back into the tank
+
Clean the drip feed pipe. replace if required.
through the return line.

0 Pump thermostat has not yet reached full temperature. + Let heater cool down and re-start.
+ Let the burner operate longer in position “1”
+
Replace pump thermostat (74).
Remember: before any investigation, remove
the plug from the socket.

0 Combustion air supply is not sufficient. + Clean the holes of the combustion chamber.
+
Check proper functioning of the fan.

0 Flue draught is not correct.
+
Ensure assembly follows pattern shown in “Flue
Installation”.
+ Check if there is any air leak.
+ Clean the flue if necessary.

0 Chimney draught is too strong or fluctuates
+
Mount draught stabilizer and adjust at minimum
too much. 2 mm W.C. (19,6 Pa).

0 Chimney draught is too low. + Check all connections.
+ Reduce quantity of bends.
+
Heighten chimney.
+
Insulate the flue pipes outside the building.
+

0 Limit thermostat is faulty or blocked. + Reset thermostat.
+
Replace thermostat.

0 Overflow protection is full.
+
Clean overflow protection.
