II. WAX ELIMINATION AND
SEPARATOR APPLICATION
Boil out:
Place the flask in boiling
water for 4 to 6 minutes to soften
the wax. Loosen the bolts on the
flask and remove the Metal Flask
Brackets. Open the flask and remove
the black Space Maintainer.
Complete boil out procedure,
discarding wax. Flush with clean
boiling water. Bevel the stone with a
lab knife around the mouth of the
sprue. Check the flask margin and
cavities to ensure that both flask
halves fit together with intimate
metal contact.
Separator:
Apply a thin coat of Al-
Cote
®
Separating Agent to model
and allow the model to dry
completely.
Retention:
Add mechanical retention
(diatorics) to the teeth. Use vent
holes, if possible. Remove only
enough tooth material to enhance
retention. Excessive removal of
tooth material will weaken the tooth
and may lead to fracture.
III. HEATING AND INJECTION
Important:
• Oven must be switched on with
the Cartridge Sleeve in place and
set to 575˚F at least 15 minutes
prior to processing.
• Keep the Cartridge Sleeve in the
Cartridge Furnace at all times,
except when injecting.
• If using DENTSPLY Heat Lamps
(904860), remove protective
plastic covering from base pan of
heat lamps prior to use. Heat
lamps must be used at their
lowest height setting.
• The Success Narrow Piston Head
Adaptor (reorder #904865) must
be used for the injection of
Lucitone FRS resin.
Heat Cartridge:
Spray DENTSPLY
Silicone Spray on a Lucitone FRS
Cartridge. Using heat resistant
gloves, insert the cartridge into the
Cartridge Sleeve. The Cartridge
Sleeve must remain in the furnace
during this process. The nozzle of
the cartridge must be facing inward.
Insert the cartridge into the
Cartridge Sleeve as far as possible.
Use the angled end of the Knockout
Rod to assist placement.
Heating Flask with Heat Lamps:
Position Injection Insert on bolt side
of the flask and place flask halves
directly under heat lamps. Turn on
heat lamps.
Heating Flask with Alternate Heat
Source:
Assemble the flask halves
with brackets and the injection
insert. Heat the flask using a dry
heat source at approximately 200˚F.
Set Timer:
Set timer for 17 minutes.
Cartridges removed prior to 17
minutes may not properly inject.
