The "Hys" func ti on en ab les the swit ching va lues (hys te re sis) to be set at which the pH-Con trol ler
is to ac ti va te and de ac ti va te the sup ply of CO

.
Exam ple 1: Swit ching va lues 0.1 - pH set ting 6.8
The pH-Con trol ler swit ches on the CO
2
sup ply when the pH va lue in the aqua ri um ri ses abo ve 6.9
and off when it drops be low 6.7.
Exam ple 2: Swit ching va lues 0.01 - pH set ting 6.8
The pH-Con trol ler swit ches on the CO
2
sup ply when the pH va lue in the aqua ri um ri ses abo ve 6.85
and off when it drops be low 6.75.
• Press "Hys" key: The cur ren tly set va lue ap pe ars on the dis play.

• When the keys re main un used for 3 sec., this va lue will be adop ted. The pH-Con trol ler con -
trols the pH va lue ac cor din gly.

11 Au to ma tic ca lib ra ti on re min der
The yel low LED "Ca lib ra ti on re min der" re minds the user au to ma ti cal ly eve ry 4 weeks that the
elec tro de is due for re-ca lib ra ti on (the pH7 LED lights up at the sa me time).

The ca lib ra ti on re min der does not af fect the nor mal me a su ring and con trol func ti ons of the pH-
Con trol ler.
12 Sup ple men ta ry ca lib ra ti on
Ad di tio nal ca lib ra ti on of the elec tro de is pos sib le at any time, ir re spec ti ve of whe ther the ca lib ra -
ti on re min der is ac ti ve:
• Press "pH 7". The "pH 7" LED and the "Ca lib ra ti on re min der" LED light up.

• If key "pH 7" is pres sed again wi thin 1 mi nu te, the con trol ler will switch from nor mal con trol
mo de to ca lib ra ti on mo de. The "pH" LED will go off and the con nec ted so le no id val ve will be
swit ched off.
• Rinse electrode briefly in distilled water.
• Place electrode in pH 7 calibrating solution.
• Wait approx. 1 minute for the electrode to adapt to the calibrating solution. Adaptation is
complete when the displayed measurement value no longer alters.
• Press "pH 7". The yellow LED flashes, the devices now calibrates automatically at pH 7, the
display shows "E 7".
• Now calibrate as described under Point 5.3 Calibration procedure.
Ad di tio nal ca lib ra ti on of the elec tro de should be car ried out in par ti cu lar 1 week af ter star ting up
the pH-Con trol ler for the first time or con nec ting a new pH-elec tro de.
13 War nings
13.1 Fla shing dis play
The dis play will flash if the pH va lue in the aqua ri um de via tes from the set va lue by mo re than
+ 0.5 or 0.5. In such ca ses, the sys tem should be che cked im me di a te ly:
• Is the re any CO
2
left in the cy lin der?
• Is the num ber of bub bles per mi nu te set cor rec tly?
