Install type-1 AC surge protection de-
vice

Potentially fatal voltages are present in the
inverter during operation. When the inverter
is disconnected from all power sources, this
voltage remains in the inverter for up to 135
seconds.

Perform the instructions listed in “9.2 Mak-
ing preparations for work - disconnecting
the inverter from the mains (AC) and solar
modules (DC)”, page 85
before
you start
work on the inverter!

9.3.1 Preparing type-1 AC surge protection de-
vices for installation
Always follow the installation instructions pro-
vided by the manufacturer of the type-1 AC surge
protection device.
It is advisable to connect all cables to the type-1 AC surge pro-
tection device before installation.
The cables required for this are included in delivery with the
inverter:

Signal cable

PE cable

1. Connect the power cable, signal cable and PE cable to the
type-1 AC surge protection devices in accordance with the
two images on the left.
