safety

Never remove the filter holder while coffee is brewing or
the selector knob is in the coffee or steam position -
steam could shoot out and burn you.

Don’t get burnt by:

hot parts, including the steam/hot water nozzle, cup
warming tray, filter holder and liquid coffee outlet.

steam or hot water coming out of the steam/hot water
nozzle or liquid coffee outlet.

Keep children away from the machine. And never let the
cord hang down where a child could grab it.

Never use a damaged machine. Get it checked or
repaired: see ‘service’.

Never put the machine in water or let the cord or plug get
wet - you could get an electric shock.

Unplug:

before filling with water

before cleaning

after use.

Never leave the machine unattended.

Don’t let the cord touch hot parts.

Don’t let anyone who hasn’t read this manual use the
machine without supervision.

Don’t let children play with this machine.

important

Never use without water - the pump will burn out.

Keep the machine above 0°F - otherwise any water in the
machine will freeze and cause damage.

Only use the machine for its intended domestic use.

Never use without the drip tray and cup stand.

before plugging in

before making coffee for the first time

1 Make sure the selector knob is in the off position (

) and

that the steam/hot water knob is closed by turning
clockwise (don’t overtighten).

2 Lift out the tank, remove the lid and fill with cold water.

Never fill above the MAX level marked. Alternatively
remove the lid and fill the tank while in position on the
coffee maker.

We recommend using filtered water as it produces better
coffee and reduces limescale. Never use fizzy water.

Replace the tank. Make sure that it is correctly in place
and apply light pressure if necessary to ensure the valve
at the bottom of the tank connects with the bottom of the
machine.
Note it is normal for water to remain in the compartment
under the tank. This can be dried using a sponge.

Important

Never operate the machine without water in

the tank. Refill as soon as the level gets low.

3 Swing out the cappuccino and latte system and put a jug

underneath.

4 Attach the filter holder to the machine by positioning it

under the liquid coffee/boiler outlet and turning to the
right. Place a bowl underneath.

5 Turn the selector knob to the boiler position (

). The

boiler light will come on, wait until the OK light glows.

6 Turn the selector knob to the coffee/hot water position

(

) and wait until two cups of water run into the bowl.

7 Turn the steam/hot water knob anti-clockwise and allow

two cups of water to run into the jug.

8 Turn the steam/hot water knob clockwise and turn the

selector knob to the off position (

).

9 Repeat these steps if you haven’t used the coffee maker

for a few days.
