Replacing the Front Fan

1.

Follow the procedures in

Before You Begin

2.

Remove the computer cover (see

Replacing the Computer Cover

).

3.

Disconnect the fan cable from the fan connector (SYSFAN2) on the system board (see

System Board Components

).

4.

Press the tabs and pull the fan away from the front of the computer.

5.

Lift the fan out of the computer, and set it aside.

6.

To replace the fan follow the steps in reverse order.

Do not touch the fan blades when you are removing the front fan. This could damage the fan.
