Prerequisites

Remove the expansion card riser 2

4.

Remove the air shroud

.

NOTE:

 The procedure to install the cooling fan is the same for Rear Accessed and Front Accessed configurations.

Steps

1. Ensure to match the airflow directional arrows on the fan assembly to the arrows on the chassis. Lower the cooling fan into

the cage until it is seated firmly.

2. Route the fan cables properly to prevent the cables from being pinched or crimped.
3. Press the release tabs on the fan cable connector and connect the cable to the system board or to the PIB.

NOTE:

 Fans 1, 2, and 3 are connected on the PIB and fans 4, 5, and 6 are connected on the system board.
