Removing the System Board
Replacing the System Board
Entering the Service Tag in the BIOS
The system board's BIOS chip contains the Service Tag, which is also visible on a barcode label at the bottom of the computer.
Removing the System Board

Remove any installed card or blank from the 3-in-1 Media Card reader.

Remove the base cover (see

Remove the Mini-Card(s) (see

Remove the hinge cover (see

Remove the Bluetooth

Remove the coin-cell battery (see

).
15.
Remove the four screws that secure the system board to the computer base.

To help prevent damage to the system board, remove the main battery (see

) before working inside the

Handle components by their edges, and avoid touching pins and contacts.
