Setting up the Charger

1. 

Connect the charger’s POSITIVE clamp to 
the POSTIVE terminal on the battery.

2. 

Connect the Charger’s NEGATIVE clamp to 
the chassis of the vehicle, away from heat 
sources or petrol pipes.

3. 

Plug the mains plug into a 240VAC mains 
power socket and turn the charger ON.

Operation

DEFA SmartChargers provide battery charging 
for a range of vehicles and equipment such as 
cars, motorbikes, 4x4s,  recreational vehicles, 
lawnmowers, jet skis and boats etc.

Pre Analysis

The charger checks if the battery is correctly 
connected. The battery’s voltage (V) and total 
capacity (Ah) is measured to determine the correct 
settings for charging.
