•
To avoid water or condensation from following the wires
into the unit, Link Hub should be positioned
with the connectors pointing downwards.
•
The GPS module should be positioned so that
there is «clear sight» to the sky and fastened with
double sided tape. The module must not be screened from
the satellites by metallic material and the LED should point
upwards (see fig.2). The normal position for the unit is
under the dashboard inside the vehicle.
Alternative positions might be on top of the dashboard or
on the windscreen. Because the GPS module is waterproof
it can be placed outside of the vehicle compartment, for
example on the outside of the windscreen.
•
Connect the GPS module to the connector
marked «GPS» on the Link Hub unit.
•
Connect the cable as shown in fig.1. and place the fuse
securely in the fuse holder.
•
The PWR LED (see fig.3.) indicates that
power is connected.
•
The GSM LED (see fig.3.) will not be illuminated if the unit
is placed outside GSM/GPRS coverage (normally the GSM
LED will be illuminated within the first five minutes after
power is connected).
•
The PWR LED and the GSM LED will turn off
30 minutes after power is connected and
GSM/GPRS contact is obtained.
