5.0  INSPECTION

5.1  INSPECTION FREQUENCY:

 The Flexiguard

 

 System must be inspected at the intervals de  ned in Section 1. Inspection 

procedures are described in the 

“Inspection and Maintenance Log” (Table 2)

. Inspect all other components of the Fall 

Protection System per the frequencies and procedures de  ned in the manufacturer’s instructions.

i-Safe™ RFID:

 Some Flexiguard Systems are equipped with an i-Safe Radio Frequency Identi

fi

 cation (RFID) Tag. The RFID Tag can 

be used in conjunction with the i-Safe Handheld Reading Device to simplify inspection and inventory control and provide records for you 

fall protection equipment.  If you are a 

fi

 rst-time i-Safe user, contact Capital Safety or visit www.capitalsafety.com.

5.2 DEFECTS:

 If inspection reveals an unsafe or defective condition, remove the  System from service immediately and 

contact Capital Safety regarding replacement or repair. Do not attempt to repair the System.

IMPORTANT:

 Only Capital Safety or parties authorized in writing by Capital Safety may make repairs to this equipment.

5.3 PRODUCT 

LIFE:

 The functional life of the System is determined by work conditions and maintenance. As long as the 

product passes inspection criteria, it may remain in service.

6.0  MAINTENANCE, SERVICING, STORAGE

6.1 CLEANING:

 Periodically clean the System’s metal components with a soft brush, warm water, and a mild soap solution. 

Ensure parts are thoroughly rinsed with clean water.

IMPORTANT:

 Although highly resistant to chemicals and environmental conditions, avoid contaminating the Flexiguard System with 

acids, bitumen, cement, paint, cleaning 

fl

 uids, etc. If the equipment contacts acids or other caustic chemicals, remove from service and 

wash with water and a mild soap solution. Inspect per Table 2 before returning to service.

6.2 SERVICE:

 Only Capital Safety or parties authorized in writing by Capital Safety may make repairs to this equipment. If 

the Flexiguard System has been subject to fall force or inspection reveals an unsafe or defective conditions, remove the 

system from service and contact Capital Safety regarding replacement or repair.

6.3 

STORAGE AND TRANSPORT:

 When not in use, store and transport the  System and associated fall protection equipment 

in a cool, dry, clean environment out of direct sunlight. Avoid areas where chemical vapors may exist. Thoroughly inspect 

components after extended storage.
