Operating the dial release on vaporizer A, illustrated on Fig. 14, extends the interlock extension rods and
turning the dial to a % setting locks the extension rods in the extended condition to prevent the possibility
of Vaporizer B being turned ON.

The actuating spindles are also operated to open the port valves so that carrier gas can flow through
vaporizer A.
