About the Reader
Typically, units are factory-programmed for the most common terminal and
communications settings. If you need to modify any programmable settings,
custom configuration can be accomplished by scanning the programming
bar codes within this guide.
Two models of the Gryphon 2D are available, and are covered in this manual:
•
Gryphon I GD44XX - Corded 2D imager bar code reader
• Gryphon I GBT4400
- Model with Bluetooth options.
Programming can alternatively be performed using the Datalogic Aladdin™
Configuration application which is downloadable from the Datalogic website
listed on the back cover of this manual. This multi-platform utility program
allows device configuration using a PC. It communicates to the device using
a serial or USB cable and can also create configuration bar codes to print.
Advancements in the LED technology used in the imager-based readers sig-
nificantly improve the illumination of the target field of view, resulting in
higher scan efficiency. Whether used in Single Trigger or Continuous Mode,
the ergonomic design of the reader will help to promote comfortable han-
dling during extended periods of use.
See
on page 30 for a listing and descriptions of avail-
able interface sets by model type.
