Usual Setting

Standard color profiles augmented with measurement data from the Extended Grays 
target will print both color and neutral black and white images. They will also print 
tinted black and white images by tinting the image itself. Users who wish to create 
special tinted profiles to control tinted black and white printing can read the long 
answer below for information on this process.

 

The Purpose of This Step

To explain the process of creating tinted black and white profiles for producing tinted 
black and white prints from grayscale or neutral RGB images.

 

The Long Answer 

Standard color profiles augmented with measurement data from the Extended Grays 
target will print both color and neutral black and white images. They will also print 
tinted black and white images by tinting the image itself. Many users will choose to 
use this process to print tinted files. 

 

Users who wish to create special tinted profiles to control tinted black and white 
printing can read the long answer below for information on this process. Please note 
that tinted profiles are intented for color inksets. Those using profilable grayscale 
inksets will need to tint in Photoshop using methods described in the tutorial on that 
topic.
