Close the printer cover.

Lock the printer.

Place the unwrapped cleaning card in the card input hopper. If your printer has a multi-
hopper, place the cleaning card in hopper 2.

Select Maintenance > Cleaning.
5.
Select Clean Printer.
6.
Click Run to start the cleaning process. Press the U
SER
button on the printer when the
message “172: Insert cleaning card” displays on the LCD panel.
The printer picks the cleaning card and moves it through the printer several times. The card
then moves into the embosser and cleans the card entry area and embosser rollers. The
cleaning card is placed in the embosser reject tray.
7.
Remove the used cleaning card. Wait a few minutes for the rollers to dry.
8.
Replace the supplies.
a.
Place the cards in the input hopper.
b.
Replace the print ribbon, if necessary.
c.
Replace the cleaning sleeve with a new sleeve and remove the protective cover.
d.
Replace the ribbon cartridge and close the printer cover. Lock the printer.
Clean the Multi-Hopper
1.
Unlock the printer and open the multi-hopper cover.
2.
Remove any blank card stock from the hoppers.
3.
Open the cleaning card package and insert the cleaning cards into the hoppers you plan to
clean.
4.
Close the multi-hopper cover.
5.
Select either Clean All Hoppers or Clean Hopper and select the number of the hopper you
want to clean.
6.
Click Run to start the cleaning process. Press the U
SER
button on the printer when the
message “172: Insert cleaning card” displays on the LCD panel.
The cleaning cards are moved back and forth across the hopper rollers several times and then
ejected back into the hoppers.
7.
Open the multi-hopper door and remove the cleaning cards.
8.
Replace the card stock in the hoppers and lock the printer.
