Important safety warnings
Before installing, using or maintaining the Lifter gear reducer for powered sectional doors, carefully read these
instructions and ensure compliance with all safety warnings that are marked in this manual as below.
This symbol stands for “Caution” and precedes a general warning meant to avoid damages to persons and properties.
Please carefully read this SAFETY chapter and make yourself familiar with these warnings. Motorised apparatus for
sectional doors is designed and tested in order to ensure maximum door safety. However, compliance to these
instructions is a mandatory condition for effective safety to be actually in place.
This sign precedes life-saving warnings. DANGER! Lack of compliance may cause serious damage to persons and
properties.
Perfect door balanced must be ensured.
If not so,
further safety measures must be taken, such as for
example installation of an anti-fall device. Doors that
are blocked or not shifting well must be repaired before
installing a motorised apparatus on them. Doors,
springs, wires, disks and guide-rails are subject to
extreme stress, which can cause serious injuries.
The force applied on the border of the door while
closing should not exceed 150 N (15 Kg). If the
power applied for closing the door exceeds to 150
N (10 kg), an additional safety device is required
(see use of safety applications). Release force
applied to an obstructed door can never be
modified.
Do not try to fix, release, move or align the door by
yourself. Please, contact the manufacturer
authorised service.
Excessive power can cause failure to the normal
reverse travel or even damage the door.
A special sign or board should be made available near
the control board in order to remind all users of the
applicable safety procedures.
Always wear appropriate protective cloths during
maintenance or installation of the door-opener,
including protective goggles, back-belts and protective
gloves. During installation or maintenance, wear snug-
fitting cloths and avoid jewellery, watches or clothes,
which could get entangled into the machine. In case of
works to be carried out on ladders or elevated
platforms, related safety procedures must be enforced.
Remove any locks that could obstruct or damage the
door. In the case of active safety locks, it is possible to
install a release-switch.
Remove all ropes and chains connected to the
door before installing the opener. DANGER
hanging
wires, ropes, chains etc… may get wrapped and cause
serious injuries.
Install the control panel, the main switch and all
other control devices in a place near the door away
from children reach but visible and easy to access.
Children must not be allowed to press buttons or
play with remote controls. Incorrect use of the
door-opener may cause serious injuries.
Installation and electric connection works must be
performed in compliance to the applicable local rules
and regulations. Electrical wires can be connected to
one single network and duly grounded.
AVOID
PLACEMENT OF THE SYSTEM in moist or wet
places.
All works on the door-opener must be carried out by
skilled staff only.
Operate the door-opener strictly only after having
inspected the entire dangerous area around the
door and having made sure that there are no
obstacles or parts infringing this area. Ensure that
the opener is duly installed and effectively prevent
passage through the door while it is operating.
Children must not be allowed to play near the door.
The installation of this apparatus is subject to the
procedures set forth by the EN12453.
This motorised apparatus must be operated and
connected in compliance with the International
Standards EN13241-1 for door closing systems
and EN 60335-1 for home appliances.
Use a circuit breaker or a disconnect switch to
prevent accidental operation of the door during
repair or maintenance works or after removing the
safeties.
All parts and components under tension and all
electrical moving parts can cause serious injuries
or even death. Installation, connection and start-up
as well as repair and maintenance must be
exclusively carried out by
trained door systems
technicians
only.
Remove all closing devices to avoid damages to
the door or to the motorised apparatus. Block the
(i) closing device (i) on the “open” position. If a
closing has to remain active, use a release switch.
The technical features of the gear reducer are stated on the motor ID plate and in this document.
Please, conform to the following documents: these instructions, all other design documents necessary for
motorisation, start-up procedures and wiring diagrams, National law provisions currently in force (concerning
safety and prevention)
