PUST
Power Up Self Test. Internal self test on the
safety option.
RS-485
Fieldbus interface as per EIA-422/485 Bus
Description, which enables serial data
transmission with multiple devices.
Safe state
If a safe state fault is detected, the safety option
goes into safe state. This includes faults related
to integrity of hardware or firmware.

SIL
Safety Integrity level (IEC61508, IEC61800-5-2,
IEC62061)
SLS - Safely
limited speed
Safety function in accordance with EN IEC
61800-5-2, monitors the frequency converter to
check that it stays within a defined speed limit.
SLS is the abbreviation for safely limited speed.

SS1 - Safe
Stop 1
Safety function in accordance with EN IEC
61800-5-2, ensures that the motor decelerates in
the expected way. SS1 is the abbreviation for
safe stop 1.
STO - Safe
Torque Off
Safety function in accordance with EN IEC
61800-5-2, prevents torque from being
generated by the motor. This function is
integrated within the frequency converter as
standard. STO is the abbreviation for safe torque
off.
TM
Mission Time (EN ISO 13849-1)
Warning
If the term is used outside the context of safety
instructions, a warning alerts to a potential
problem that was detected by a monitoring
function. A warning is not an error and does not
cause a transition of the operating state.
