Source SFI: The System Function ID of the ECDIS. This SFI must be unique on the entire
network.

Location: The location of the ECDIS. E.g. Starboard ECDIS, Conning ECDIS. The location
must be unique within the ECDIS-class of equipment.

Transmission group: IEC61162-450 defined binary re-transmittable transmission group to
be used for transmission.

Destination SFI: The system function ID of the VDR (or similar equipment) to receive the
images.

Transmission time offset: Offset by which the image should be transmitted. This is to
offload the network. IEC61996-1 Ed.2 defines the following:

ECDIS node 1 transmit at time offset 8 seconds

ECDIS node 2 transmit at time offset 12 seconds
3.
ECDIS node 3 transmit at time offset 2 seconds
4.
ECDIS node 4 transmit at time offset 6 seconds

Source port: The transmitting port of the ECDIS.

Chart information whenever new chart cells are displayed, or at least every 10 minutes.
7.2.2 NavBox chart update
It is possible to connect a NavBox to the ECDIS.
The shared path of chart database must be configured for this feature to work. Replace the “????”
with the IP of the NavBox. E.g.: \\192.18.1.1\enc
