Deca RGB Mode

Camera Link cable quality and length
The maximum allowable Camera Link cable length depends on the quality of the cable used and the
Camera Link strobe frequency. Cable quality degrades over time as the cable is flexed. In addition, as the
Camera Link strobe frequency is increased the maximum allowable cable length will decrease.
The Piranha4 cameras are capable of driving cables 10 metres or less in length. We do not guarantee good
imaging performance with low quality cables of
any
length. In general, we recommend the use of high
quality cables for any cable length.
Input Signals, Camera Link
The camera accepts control inputs through the Camera Link MDR26F connector. The camera ships in
internal sync, and internally programmed integration.
EXSYNC (Line Readout Trigger)
Line rate can be set internally using the GenICam features. The external control signal EXSYNC is
optional and enabled through the user interface. This camera uses the falling edge of EXSYNC to trigger
pixel readout.
The EXSYNC signal tells the camera when to integrate and readout the image. It can be either an
internally generated signal by the camera, or it can be supplied externally via the serial interface.
Depending upon the mode of operation the high time of the EXSYNC signal can represent the integration
period.
Note
: The EXSYNC signal is measured at CC1 and will give a ―true‖ measurement (i.e. within the
measurement resolution of 25 ns) even though the camera will only trigger at a maximum of 50 KHz.
