Getting Started

1.

Disconnect power before any repair or maintenance work is done on the interface.

2.

Qualified service personnel must make any access to internal electronics.

3.

Disconnect power when the SI-32 interface is not in use.

Technical Specifications

Functional Description:

The switch interface is used in conjunction with one or more

Venus

®

1500 controlled displays. The unit has a RS232 input, RS422 input, and RS422

output. The inputs are used for connection to a Venus

®

 1500 Software System for

message programming. The output is connected to one or more electronics message

displays. Thirty-two isolated inputs control what messages will be displayed.

LED Functions

Power:

The green power LED should be on continuously, indicating that power is on.

Run/TX:

The red RUN/TX LED should blink slowly indicating the microprocessor is running.

The LED should blink faster while transmitting.

RX:

The amber RX LED should flash when the Venus

®

 1500 Software is communicating with

the displays. If the Venus

®

1500 Software is disconnected, the amber TX LED may remain

on.

Note:

This unit needs only the Venus

®

1500 Software for initial message programming.
