VRV system serving 6 rooms. The biggest room has an area of
60 m², the smallest room has an area of 16 m².
No underground
floor
in the building.
Use graph

to check the maximum allowed charge for a room of
16 m² with a ceiling mounted unit: 10.4 kg

Example 2:
VRV system serving 6 rooms. The biggest room has an area of
60 m², the smallest room has an area of 16 m².
There are multiple
underground floors
in the building and the smallest room of the
lowest underground floor has an area of 28 m².
Use graph
(c)
to check the maximum allowed charge for a room of
16 m² with a ceiling mounted unit: 10.4 kg
Use graph
(d)
to check the maximum allowed charge for the
smallest room (28 m²) of the lowest underground floor: 9.4 kg
9.4 kg<10.4 kg, therefore the maximum field piping charge is 9.4 kg
(smallest value).

Procedure to check if
smallest room size
meets the requirements
Start installation
Derive total charge limit from
graph for underground floor
and other floors.
See steps 2 & 3 in the above
text.
Determine smallest room area.
See step 1 in the above text.
Change installation:
1. Increase area of smallest room.
OR
2. Decrease piping length by changing
layout.
OR
3. Add additional countermeasures
as described in applicable legislation.
See step 5 in the above text.
Determine total charge amount
of the system. See step 4 in
the above text.
