Air Flow Calculation
Per ASHRAE guidelines and other relevant guidelines, the feet coverage of each unit can be
calculated using the following example:
CFM = (Ceiling Height) x (Room Square Footage) x (ACH) x (1hr/60min)
As an example, if the unit is installed in a 35’ x 40’ room with 10’ ceilings, and the user would like
to achieve the minimum recommended 2 ACH, then the recommended CFM for the unit would be:
CFM = (10’) x (35’x40’) x (2ACH) x (1hr/60min) = 466CFM
NOTE: ASHRAE recommends a minimum of 2 ACH for re-opening schools, for example.
