Network Management Commands
traceroute
Purpose
Used to determine the network path between
two devices.
Syntax
traceroute <ipaddr> {ttl <value>} {port
<value>} {timeout <sec>} {probe <value>}
Description
This command allows you to trace a route
between the switch and a give host on the
network.
Parameters
<ipaddr>
−
the IP address of the remote
device.
ttl <value>
−
the time to live value of the
trace route request. This is the maximum
number of routers the traceroute command
will cross while seeking the network path
between two devices. The maximum value is
port <value>
−
the port number. Must be
above 1024.
probe <value>
−
the number of probing.
Restrictions
Only administrator-level users can issue this
command.
Example Usage:
Trace the routed path between the switch and 10.48.74.121.
