Section 3: Advanced Configuration
HTTPS
By default, the HTTPS port is set to 443. It can also be assigned to another port number
between 1025 and 65535.
To use HTTPS on the Network Camera, a HTTPS certificate must be installed. The HTTPS
certificate can be obtained by either creating and sending a certificate request to a
Certificate Authority (CA) or creating a self-signed HTTPS certificate, as described below.
HTTP
: The default web server port is 80. If the port is changed, the client must be notified of
the change for the connection to be successful. For instance, if the Administrator changes the
HTTP port of the Network Camera whose IP address is 192.168.0.100 from 80 to 8080, the user
must type in the web browser “http://192.168.0.100:8080” instead of “http://192.168.0.100”.
Access name for stream 1, 4:
This Network Camera supports multiple streams
simultaneously. The access name is used to differentiate the streaming source.
RTSP
Authentication:
Depending on your network security requirements, the Network Camera
provides three types of security settings for streaming via RTSP protocol: disable, basic,
and digest. If basic authentication is selected, the password is sent in plain text format, but
there can be potential risks of it being intercepted. If digest authentication is selected, user
credentials are encrypted using MD5 algorithm, thus providing better protection against
unauthorized access.
Access name for stream 1 to 4:
This Network Camera supports multiple streams
simultaneously. The access name is used to differentiate the streaming source.
Note
: Ensure to choose the different port from the one set for the web server port.
FTP
The FTP server allows the user to save recorded video clips. You can utilize D-Link's IP Cam
Wizard to upgrade the firmware via FTP server. By default, the FTP port is set to 21. It also
can be assigned to another port number between 1025 and 65535.
