11. USING THE DRYER.
The drying unit in the printer’s base and is composed of eight heating rods and eight blowers.
We suggest to turn on the drying unit minutes before printing to give time for the heating rods to heat up.
Depending on the quantity of ink on the media and the printing speed:
You may regulate the speed of the fans by pressing the high or low button at the control panel.
If it is not enough just by using fan power, you may turn on the 8 heating rods and the front rubber
heater by turning ON HEATER 1.
Possible to regulate the temperature by using the thermostat. Usually is used a temperature between
60 to 90°C (140 to 194°F).
Check if the printed images at the take-up roll are dried enough. If not, you may increase the Set
temperature at the thermostat and/or turn ON HEATER 2. Heater number 2 is the rear rubber heater.
Works as an extra heater when printing dark images or when printing at very high speeds.
Note
We suggest to turn on the drying unit minutes before printing to give time for the heating rods to heat up.
After using the dryer, we suggest to leave only the fans turned on to cool down the heating rods and then
proceed to switch off the whole system.
