Loosen the five bolts circled in the photo, then slide the motor
forward or backward to increase or decrease the belt tension.
Check your work by re-tightening the bolts, then temporarily
installing the belt (see last step).
When properly tensioned, the belt should allow less than 1cm of
deflection halfway along the upper span (see diagram 3a).

To re-install the belt, thread it through the hole in the left-side
motor housing, loop it around the motor pulley wheel, then roll
it on to the hub pulley wheel from the bottom. Be careful not to
pinch your fingers between the belt and the pulley!
5.
Bolt the two halves of the motor housing back together on the
bike, making sure they line up flush with one another.
