Start up
Preliminary checks / leakage test
Setting air pressure switch
Selecting fuel
Burner start up simultaneously involves
starting up installation by the fitter or his
representative; only they can guarantee
boiler house compliance with currently
accepted practices and regulations in
force.
The fitter must first be in possession of
a “ certificate of gas fuel conformity ”
issued either by the approved body or
distributor and also have leak-tested
and drained pipework upstream from
the quarter-turn hand-operated valve.
Also, the fuel oil suction pipe must be
filled completely, drained and
pressurized, if booster is available.
Preliminary checks
•
Check the following:
–
nominal available voltage and
electrical frequency and compare
them with values found on
identification plate,
–
polarity between phase and neutral
–
previously tested earth wire
connection,
–
lack of potential between neutral
and earth,
–
motor rotation directions,
–
thermal relay only in
manual (H)
position and intensity setting.
•
Cut off electrical supply.
•
Make sure there is no current.
•
Close liquid and gas fuel valves.
•
Read boiler and regulator
manufacturer service instructions.
•
Check the following:
–
boiler is full of pressurized water,
–
circulator(s) work(s),
–
mixing valve(s) open,
–
combustion air supply to the boiler
house and combustion product
exhaust pipe are working correctly
and compatible with burner
capacity and fuels,
–
draught operator working correctly
on exhaust pipe,
–
protective fuses outside burner are
present, calibrated and set,
–
boiler regulator circuit is set.
For
fuel oil
–
tank fuel oil level,
–
suction pipe full,
–
suction and return hose position,
–
boost pressure not exceeding 2bars,
–
control and prefilter valves positions.
For
gas
–
gas type and distribution pressure
are suited to the burner.
Leakage test
Fuel oil
•
This is performed during start up
while burner is working.
Gas
•
Connect manometer upstream from
the gas manifold.
•
Open and close the quarter-turn
hand-operated valve.
•
Check supply pressure and its
long-term stability.
•
Use a purpose designed foam to
check air-tightness of gas manifold
connections, including external filter.
No leak should be found.
•
Drain pipework downstream from the
quarter-turn hand-operated valve
whilst taking care to protect the gas
valve intake.
•
Reclose drain valve, remove
manometer, close pressure take-off.
Selecting fuel
On delivery, fuel is selected manually
via the
S4
switch on
TC
.
Optionally, fuel can be remote
controlled.
Choice of fuel
When both fuels are available:
Set in the following order:
1. Domestic liquid fuel according to the
nominal power and the output of the
boiler.
2. Gas fuel - natural or propane
gas.
Without modifying the setting of the
nominal gas flow’s cam precised in fuel,
control and adjust the combustion
quality in acting on the valve.
This procedure enables to fully use
boiler and burner.
Setting air pressure switch
•
Check the connection of the flexible
piping. The
+
on the pressure
connector to the
+
on the pressure
switch. The other pipe should be
already connected.
•
Remove transparent cover. Unit
includes a
x
index and graduated
mobile disk.
•
Provisionally set pressure controller
to the minimum value shown on
graduated disk.
