Link Fault Pass-Through (LFP)
Link Fault Pass-through or LFP is a method of forwarding a link loss
from one media to the other over the Muxponder. LFP function of
FRM220-TM-10GMux supports both "Line to Client" and "Client to
Client" SFP fiber link fault application for troubleshooting purposes. See
below for detailed explanations:
"Line to Client" LFP Application
For "Line to Client" fiber link pass through application, this feature
will pass a fiber link fault through the device to the SFP at the Client side
when SFP+ LFP function at the Line side enabled. Therefore, if a link fails
on the SFP+ Line side, the Muxponder will force the SFP CH1
~
CH7 at the
Client side link down.
For example:
As shown in the figure above, if a fault occurs on the 10G SFP+
Line side with local Line LFP enabled, the Muxponder would force each
channel in the local Client side link down.
