8. Transport and storage
Warning! Set the starter switch (fig. 34, no. 9)
to "OFF" ("0") during transportation of the
generator
. Always keep the generator horizontal to
avoid fuel leakage. Fuel vapours or spilled fuel can
catch fire.
The tilting angle of the device should never be
more than 15°!
Preparation for long-term decommissioning / storage of device:
1. Make sure that the storage area is free from excess humidity and dust.
2. Drain the fuel:
Turn the fuel cock (fig. 35, no. 7)
to “OFF" (“0"). Remove
the fuel hose from the fuel cock. Turn the fuel cock to “ON”
(
“1”) and fill the fuel in a suitable container using a funnel.
After the fuel tank has been completely emptied, shift the
fuel hose back to the outlet of the fuel cock.
▪
Loosen the drain screw (fig. 36, no. 27) of the carburettor
and empty the residual fuel from the carburettor (fig. 36, no.
26) into a suitable container.
3. Unscrew the spark plug and pour ca. 20 ml of engine oil into the spark plug hole. Careful-
ly pull the pull-cord starter (fig. 37, no. 6) until you can feel resistance. At this point, the
piston is raised during the compression stroke, the inlet and outlet valves are closed and
a little oil is distributed in the engine. Storing the engine in this position prevents corrosion
in the interior of the device.
If the fuel can no longer be used due to impurities,
dispose of it in an environmentally responsible way.
