CR24 UPKIT
2
Step 2 (Continued):
c. Cut the power wires going into the input side of
the ballast. The ballast may remain in place, unless
it is determined that it needs to be removed to
provide extra clearance.
NOTE: If parts have to be removed from the host
lighting fixture in order to complete the installa-
tion of this upgrade kit, then make sure that open
holes are closed-off utilizing the existing host
lighting fixture hardware (i.e. screws, covers, etc.)
d. Insert a corner of one of the End Mounts into the
ceiling in between the T-grid and the host lighting
fixture and do the same on the opposite diagonal
corner. Rotate the End Mount so that it is square in
the host lighting fixture.
e. Push the End Mount to the back of the host light-
ing fixture so that the long edge of the End Mount
slides in between the T-grid and the host lighting
fixture. Repeat the process on the other end host
lighting fixture.
f. Install the Side Panels by first inserting the Side
Panel Guide into the Side Panel Guide Slot on one
end and then the other.
g. Push the Side Panel outward until the Hemmed
Edge inserts in between the T-grid and the host
lighting fixture. Repeat on the other side of the
fixture with the other Side Panel.
h. Secure the host lighting fixture within its respec-
tive gridwork by either (a) utilizing the earthquake/
suspended ceiling clips on the existing host lighting
fixture, or (b) insert screws through the gridwork
right above the recessed lip of the host lighting fix-
ture so as to prevent the host lighting fixture from
moving upward in the gridwork.
INSTALLING LIGHT ENGINE
Step 3:
a. Install Light Engine into the fixture by holding it
vertical and pushing it upward so that the Mount
Pin falls into the Mount Pin Vertical Guide. Continue
to push upward until the Mount Pin snaps into
the Mount Pin Hole on each end. Slowly remove
support holding Light Engine to ensure the Light
Engine is being supported by the End Mount.
b. Once the Light Engine is properly hung, the elec-
trical connections need to be made. The first step is
to ground the Side Panels. This is done by inserting
a Ground Wire Assembly on each Side Panel. Make
the connection on the Side Panel Grounding Tabs
closest to the junction box on the Light Engine.
c. After these connections are made, using the
Ground Wire Assembly connector to bend the Side
Panel Grounding Tabs up around 45°. This prevents
the Ground Wire Assemblies from interfering with
the Light Engine when it is fully installed.
