The Input Gain is to amplify weaker signals if your patient still finds it hard to open or close their hand after
you adjust their On and Max thresholds. It should be used secondary to adjusting the thresholds if they still
show muscle fatigue when trying to operate their hand. The Input Gain is also useful for the interchangeability
between different hands as you can make a COVVI Hand perform the same as other prosthetic devices without
having to manually adjust the electrodes each time you swap the device.
In the bars layout, click on Input Gain at the top of the screen and the line underneath the two bars will change
to have one circle that says GAIN. Slide the circle to the right to amplify whichever input signal is weaker so
your patient isn’t over exerting themselves trying to open or close the hand.
In the line graph layout, the outer set of orange bars have one circle saying GAIN. Slide the circle up to amplify
whichever input signal is weaker so the patient isn’t over exerting themselves trying to open or close the hand.
If after adjusting the Input Gain they still find it hard to use the hand, you will need to check the gain on the
electrode itself to see if it needs to be manually increased.
Click on Config Overview to leave the Input Graph.
