5.2 - Minimum distances to be
observed
For both installation and maintenance, it is necessary to
leave free spaces around the storage tank, as shown in
figure 5-3.
5.3 - Selection of place of
installation
WARNING! The unit must be installed only on
a horizontal surface that will take its weight, take into
account the weight in service of the storage tank (see
section 8 technical specifications) plus the hot water
heater, both full of water (for details relating to the hot
water heater see its installation manual).
Determine the room and the right position for installation,
taking the following factors into account:
- dimensions and weight of the unit;
- connection to water supply;
- connection of domestic hot water system;
- any eventual connection of storage tank drain
(recommended);
- any eventual connection of storage tank safety valve drain
(recommended);
- any eventual connection of storage hot water heater
safety valve drain (recommended);
- connection to electric power supply of electronic anode
(responsibility of installer);
- As far as the hot water heater’s connections are
concerned, see the instructions in its installation manual.
This unit must be installed in a place where any leakage
of water that comes from it, from the joints between pipes
or from any discharge from the safety valve, cannot
cause any damage to materials or things below it.
5.4 - Electronic anode
WARNING! The presence and correct operation
of the electronic anode is indispensable to protect the
storage tank from corrosion.
The electronic anode is supplied already installed and
connected at the factory. The position of the electronic
anode in the storage tank is shown in section 3. For the
correct operation of the electronic anode the installer must
connect the electric power supply as described in section
5.21.1 and earth the storage tank as described in section
5.5. To check correct operation of the electronic anode,
follow the steps described in section 7.1.1.
5.5 - Storage tank earthing
WARNING! For correct operation of the
electronic anode the storage tank must be “earthed”. If
the earthing is not carried out correctly the protection
of the tank cannot be guaranteed.
