Master configuration
This menu allows the user to change W-Master related parameters. Every parameter controllable from
this menu is saved in the Application Flash memory, this means that every change in any parameter will
be kept after reset or power cycle of the W-Master.
The options possible in the Master Configuration menu shown in the following Figure.
Figure 20 - W-Master Configuration menu
1. Get Current Configuration
: this option reads the current master configuration. See example result in the
following Figure.
Figure 21 - Get Current Master Configuration Example
2.
Set Master ID:
this option changes the W-Master's ID. the Master ID parameter is important to distinguish
between different IO-Link wireless networks. In case there are few masters in the same premises they need to have
different Master-ID's to minimize collision. (for more info on the Master ID parameter refer to the
IO-Link Wireless
Master API Guide
[1])
3.
Set Max Retry (all Wports):
this option changes the max_retry parameter and essentially contains the maximum
number of retries for a transmission in OPERATE mode. In this example the max retry is common for all Devices
even though it is possible to configure each Device with a different Max Retry. (for more info on the maximum retry
refer to the
IO-Link Wireless Master API Guide
[1])
4.
Set AHT mode:
this option disables/enables the Adaptive Hopping Table (AHT) algorithm. The AHT is an
optional frequency ordering & selection algorithm designated to optimize performance in order to minimize Packet
Error Rate. (for more info on the AHT refer to the
IO-Link Wireless Master API Guide
[1]) The RECONNECT
feature must be enabled to allow the AHT operation. see next clause.
5.
Set Reconnect mode
: this option disables/enables the optional Reconnect feature. When enabled, the Device
doesn't save the pairing information after pairing and instead the Master reconnects back any lost devices after
communication lost. (for more info on the Reconnect feature refer to the IO-Link Wireless Master API Guide [1]).
