OS Recovery Settings
This section lists the precautions regarding OS recovery with the mirror card connected.
Usually, you should perform recovery using recovery media after connecting two storages to the
mirror card.
When the mirror card recognizes the two storages connected to it as functioning normally, carry out
recovery as-is from the recovery media.
However, if a storage was used with a different RAID system, the mirror card may not recognize this
storage as functioning properly due to the mirroring configuration information.
In this situation, you have to operate the DIP switch on the mirror card. Carry out recovery according
to the following procedure.
1
With the power OFF, change the DIP switch on the mirror card to setting 1.
*For the DIP switch settings, see “
(page89)
”.
2
Turn the power ON, and then check that the Access LED among the mirror card LEDs flashes in
orange.
*Check the mirror card LEDs visually.
For more on the status of the mirror card LED, refer to “
LED Status (page90)
”.
3
Turn the power OFF, and then set the DIP switch on the mirror card to its normal status.
*For the DIP switch settings, see “
Switch Settings (page89)
”.
4
After installing the mirror card, turn the power ON, and then carry out recovery.
* For the recovery method, see "Windows Recovery Procedure," which is included with the
recovery media.
