17. Expansion Slot
Expansion slots can be selected from two types: Type 1 provides three slots that can house a PCI bus-
type expansion board. Type 2 provides one slot that can house a PCI-Express (x1) bus-type expansion
board and two slots that can house PCI bus-type expansion board.

CAUTION

You may not be able to install expansion boards that use board edge connector tails (the parts
in the figures that are filled in).

PCI bus uses 32bit.

This product might be frozen when using the expansion slot. If that is the case, follow the
settings described below. (If you are using the bundled recovery media, the following
procedure is unnecessary as the described settings are already set)
Open the Control Panel by right-clicking on the “Start” button. Go to “Hardware and Sound” >
“Power Options” > “Change plan settings” > “Change advanced power settings”, then set the
“Link state power management” off in the “PCI Express”.
