Hardware Installations
This chapter provides information on how to use the jumpers and connectors on the
SIS-8601-LVA in order to set up a workable system.
2.1 Installation
procedure

Insert the DRAM module with correct orientation.
2.1.2
Insert all external cables except for flat panel. (Hard disk, floppy, keyboard,
Mouse, LAN, etc.)

Prepare a CRT monitor for CMOS setup.
2.1.4
Confirm CPU card to backplane.
2.1.5
Turn on the power.
2.1.6
Enter the BIOS setup mode by pressing ‘Del’ key during boot up.
2.1.7
Use the “Load BIOS Optimal Defaults” feature.

Configure the
Peripheral Setup
and the
Standard Setup
correctly.
Note: The CMOS memory may be in an undefined state at power-on after a period of no battery
backup.
