Troubleshooting
This chapter describes common problems that may occur with this
product and what to do about them. If any problems occur that are
not described here, check to confirm that the re-occur, then contact
the store where you purchased the product, or the CONTEC
information center.
Cannot detect the LAN card automatically
When this product is plugged for the first time, Windows 95 or
Windows 98 usually detects it automatically as a new piece of
hardware. In some cases, however, the product may not be
detected automatically for some reason.
Already registered as one of <Other devices>
Open the [Device Manager] sheet.
Check if “CONTEC FX-DS110-PCC” is listed under [Other
devices]. If it is, delete the entry according to “Uninstallation of
hardware” in Chapter 4 and install the driver over again.
Possible causes are as follows:
- Windows 95 or Windows 98 was installed with this product
already plugged.
Do not plug the PC Card before installing the OS.
- This state may be caused by aborting the installation process by
clicking the “Cancel” button prematurely.
PCMCIA socket not working normally
Open the [Device Manager] sheet. Check < PCMCIA Controller >
under < PCMCIA Socket >.
If “x” or “!” is displayed, the PCMCIA socket does not work
normally.
Follow the procedure below to install the PCMCIA socket:
(1) Open the [Device Manager] sheet. Select < PCMCIA
Controller > under < PCMCIA Socket > and click on the
[Delete] button.
