The icon with exclamation mark indicates important information in the operating
instructions. Carefully read the whole operating instructions before operating the device,
otherwise there is risk of danger.

Personal safety

Keep the fl oor light out of the reach of children! There is a risk of a fatal electric shock.

•

To avoid eye injuries, do not look at the light source or point the light at persons or animals.

•

Do not carelessly leave the packaging material lying around since this may become a dangerous toy for

•

children.

Product safety

The device must not be exposed to extreme temperatures, strong vibrations or heavy mechanical stress.

•

The fl oor light is only to be operated with a supply voltage of 220 - 240 V~ / 50 Hz. Never try to operate the

•

wall-mounted exterior lamp with a different voltage, this will destroy it.
Do not use the fl oor light in rooms or under adverse ambient conditions where combustible gases, vapours

•

or dust are or may be present!
The fl oor light is protected according to IP67.

•

The fi rst number „6“ indicates complete protection against contact with parts under tension or inner

 -

moving parts and protection against penetration by dust.
The second number „7“ indicates that water can not penetrate in damaging quantities, when the

 -

equipment is submerged under defi ned circumstances.

If you have reason to assume that safe operation is no longer possible, disconnect the device immediately

•

and secure it against inadvertent operation. It can be assumed that safe operation is no longer possible if:

the device shows visible signs of damage

 -

the device no longer operates

 -

the device was stored under unfavourable conditions for a long period of time or

 -

the device was exposed to extraordinary stress caused by transport.

 -

The stainless steel lid must not come into contact with salt water.

•

Miscellaneous

In commercial institutions, the accident prevention regulations of the employer’s liability insurance

•

association for electrical systems and operating facilities are to be observed.
Servicing, adjustment or repair works must only be carried out by a specialist/ specialist workshop.

•

Service or other experts.

Mounting preparations

4.

The  fl oor light may only be installed by a qualifi ed technician who is familiar with the
relevant regulations (e.g. VDE, German electrical wiring regulations)!
Improper work carried out on the mains voltage endangers not only your life but also the
life of others!
If you do not have the expertise required for the installation, do not install it yourself but
ask a qualifi ed technician.

Please note:

The fl oor light is intended for fl oor mounting, e.g. in garden paths.

•

The fl oor light can be mounted and operated in unshielded outdoor areas due to the design and the IP67

•

protection class. Do not operate the fl oor light in or under water.
The fl oor light must be secured on the subdistribution board provided by user by a 10/16A fuse. An earth

•

leakage circuit breaker must be installed before this, (FI protective switch).
The fl oor light must be disconnected from the power supply during installation. It is not suffi cient to just turn

•

off the light switch!
Turn the power off and remove the electric circuit fuse or switch off the circuit breaker. Assure it against an
unauthorised re-start, e.g. with a danger sign.
Check that the mains connection is free of current e.g. with an appropriate tester.

•

Mounting

5.

Pay attention to the information in chapter „Mounting preparations“!

Screw off the three Allen head screws from the stainless steel cover.

1.

Remove the stainless steel cover as well as the glass cover.

2.

Loosen the recessed fl oor light’s three screws using a Phillips screwdriver.

3.

Remove the recessed fl oor light from the mounting sleeve.

4.

Choose the appropriate mounting position for the mounting sleeve. Pay attention to the right orientation of

5.

the mounting sleeve when you want to align the Allen screw of the stainless steel cover e.g. with the edge
of a building.
Check the correct height of the stainless steel cover of the fl oor light before fi xing it and insert the mounting

6.

sleeve proportionally deep.

When installed professionally (e.g. with concrete-casting), the recessed fl oor light can be loaded
with a weight of up to 1000 kg. However, scratches will increasingly occur on glass and stainless
steel cover!

Lay the mains lead (Ø 10 - 14 mm) through the mounting sleeve from the bottom side.

7.

Make sure that the mains lead is not damaged by the mounting sleeve’s sharp edges!
Pass the mains lead underground at an ample depth. Use a suitable protective conduit
for the cable.
Pass all cables in a way they cannot be damaged e.g. while gardening (digging a
fl owerbed).

Loosen one of the two nuts on the recessed fl oor light’s underside and guide the feeder into the inside of

8.

the recessed fl oor light.
Connect the feeder to the terminal strip (brown cable = L , blue cable = N).

9.

In case of doubt, contact a qualifi ed technician and do not carry out the connection and
mounting yourself. Make sure the cable is not stripped too long; this could also cause
short-circuit or suchlike.

Place the illuminant into the applicable light fi tting and screw the illuminant in, in clockwise direction, until

10.

it engages.

You might want to use the suction cup for this. Press the suction cup carefully to the edge of the
illuminant (not its centre) and screw the illuminant in by turning the suction cup. Do not exert too
much pressure onto the refl ector pane, since it can easily break.

Insert the recessed fl oor light into the mounting sleeve and screw the light in tightly using the three

11.

previously loosened screws.
Insert the glass cover.

12.

Finally, fasten the stainless steel cover using the three Allen head screws.

13.

Switch on the mains voltage again and make sure that the ground light fi xture is functioning.

14.

If the bulb in the fl oor light does not light up, switch off the mains voltage immediately
(take out fuse or switch off circuit breaker).
Subsequently check the connection of the wall-mounted exterior lamp or the light bulb.
In case of doubt contact a professional (e.g. an electrician).

Replacing the illuminant

6.

First switch off the mains voltage (take out fuse or switch off circuit breaker).

1.

Screw off the three Allen head screws from the stainless steel cover.

2.

Remove the stainless steel cover as well as the glass cover.

3.

If applicable, let the defective illuminant cool down (risk of burns) and remove the illuminant by screwing it

4.

off in counterclockwise direction.
Place a suitable illuminant (GX53 socket, max. 11 W) into the applicable light fi tting and screw the illuminant

5.

in, in clockwise direction, until it engages.

You might want to use the suction cup for this. Press the suction cup carefully to the edge of the
illuminant (not its centre) and screw the illuminant in by turning the suction cup. Do not exert too
much pressure onto the refl ector pane, since it can easily break.

Insert the glass cover.

6.

Finally, fasten the stainless steel cover using the three Allen head screws.

7.

Switch on the mains voltage again and make sure that the ground light fi xture is functioning.

8.

If you use a light bulb with a higher capacity there is a risk of overheating and fi re
hazard!

Care and maintenance

7.

The fl oor light is maintenance-free except for an occasional exchange of the light bulb. Therefore never

•

disassemble it (except to mount it or to exchange the light bulb as described in this manual).
Switch off the fl oor light resp. disconnect it from the mains voltage before cleaning.

•

The outside of the fl oor light should only be wiped off with a clean, soft, dry cloth. For stronger contamination,

•

use a cloth which is slightly moistened with lukewarm water.
Do not use aggressive cleaning agents or chemical solutions which could damage the housing (discolouring)

•

or impair operation.

Disposal

8.

In order to preserve, protect and improve the quality of environment, protect human health and
utilise natural resources prudently and rationally, the user should return unserviceable product to
relevant facilities in accordance with statutory regulations.
The crossed-out wheeled bin indicates the product needs to be disposed separately and not as
municipal waste.
